POLICE DEPARTMENT
FUNCTION
The Police Department presently has 50 sworn full time
officers and 25 reserve and auxillary officers,
The primary function of the Fort Walton Beach Police
Department is to protect life, liberty and property. This
responsibility is accomplished through upholding the laws of
the City and State. The Department is dedicated to the
prevention and repression of crime through vigorous patrol,
apprehension of those that violate the law. detection of
potential hazzards, and adequate measures to safeguard the
welfare of the community.
