is as follows:
We recommend changing from R- 2 to Commercial the following
property:
East side Chestnut from First to Oak ( Ocean City SiD)
Lots 322, 323, 324, 325, 326 and 327.
North side East First Street from Chestnut Street to Chicago
Avenue - Lots No. 3l6, 317, 3l8, 319, 320 and 32l ( Ocean City
SiD)
South side East First Street on the West side of Florida Blanca
Street - Lot 569 ( Ocean City SiD) - Lot 87 ( Greater Camp Walton)
This recommendation is based on the fact that the above
property is situated adjacent to, or adjoining, property
presently zoned Commercial.
Werecommend denying the request to re- zone from R- 2 to
Commercial the following property:
15
South side East First from Alconese Street to Florida
Blanca Street - West 92 ft. of Lot 567 ( Ocean City SiD)
West 108 rt. of Lot 62 ( Greater Camp Walton) - Lot 568
I Ocean Ci ty SiD) -
This
Lot 86 ( Greater Camp Walton)
is based on the fact that should this
recommendation
request be granted, this property lying between Alconese
and Florida Blanca Streets, would be a small Commercial
area and in an otherwise R- 2 area; furthermore, Florida
Blanca Street at the present acts as a natural buffer be-
tween commercial and residential properties. It is the
opinion of the Hearing Board that this buffer line be main-
tained. For these reasons we recommend that this particu-
lar zoning remain R- 2.'
This recommendation was carefully considered by MAB on
March 4, 1958. We concur with this Hearing Board recom-
mendation and it is hereby presented as a joint recommenda-
tion for Council consideration."
Councilman Roberts moved that this recommendation from
Municipal Advisory Board be approved as read and the re-
quired ordinance be prepared effecting this re- zoning.
Seconded by Councilman Bass. Vote aye, unanimous.
All items of referrals to Finance Committee were held pend-
ing Committee action.
Concerning liquidated damages to be assessed against the
George G. Tapper Company on their recent sewer contract,
Councilman Roberts moved that a meeting be set up between
Council, Tapper Company, Pan- American Surety Company and
representatives of the Housing and Home Finance Agency in
an endeavor to clear this matter up. Seconded by Council-
man Carnathan. Vote aye, unanimous. Mr. Rodgers is to
make arrangements for such a meeting, properly notifying
all concerned.
By motion made by Councilman Miller and seconded by Coun-
cilman Roberts, meeting was adjourned at 9: 15 P. M.
