BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: March 7, 2017 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Alvin Henderson SUBJECT: Public Safety Presentation on EMS Issues Discussed at January 31st Workshop DEPARTMENT: Public Safety BCC DISTRICT: All STATEMENT OF ISSUE: The Department of Public Safety is prepared to present findings and recommendations related to the EMS issues brought forward at the workshop meeting on January 31, 2017. BACKGROUND: At the Board of County Commissioners Workshop on January 31st, the Public Safety Department presented EMS issues related to staffing, overtime utilization, revenue and billing, and recommendations. The Chairman instructed the Department to continue working on solutions and prepare a presentation for consideration at the regularly scheduled Board of County Commissioners meeting on March 7th. OPTIONS: Approve or disapprove. RECOMMENDATIONS: The Department recommends the approval of the two action items presented: 12 hour conversion plan in FY17, full implementation of 12 hour conversion plan for consideration in FY18 budget. RECOMMENDED BY: APPROVED BY: John Hofstad, County Administrator
