Mayor requested that City Engineer pick
46, 950. 00
up the bids, calculate them, and report
back to Council.
City Manager asked that the two low
bidders meet with City Engineer to dis-
cuss their capability so that he can
report that to Council.
Mayor recognized a representative from
Mixon Enterprises, who asked Council to
consider the length of time it will take
to clean these areas up by contract.
You can get a lower price by continuing
to contract with the people already on
an hourly rate. Every phase can pro-
bably be completed in one third the time
it will take these contractors.
City Manager replied that it was his under-
standing that the City was allowed to
start clean up of the rights- of- way by
hourly contract. At the same time we
were told to take sealed bids at the
earliest possible date, and this is what
we have done. This is not the choice of
council. It is a directive from the
Federal Disaster Officials.
JUNIOR SERVICE LEAGUE Mayor recognized a group of ladies from
the Junior Service League and welcomed
them to the meeting.
Mayor presented the following recommen-
