On September 18, 2009, three (3) proposals were received for Florida
Lobbying Services. A Board approved Committee reviewed and ranked the
proposals. The Advocacy Group (Tallahassee, FL) was ranked #1 (see
attached ranking sheet).
The contract for Florida Lobbying Services has been in place since 2000. In
July 2009, the Board directed staff to put this service out for bids/proposals.
This service provides county representation in Tallahassee in efforts to seek
revenue sources for matters such as infrastructure, grants, solid waste
disposal, wastewater treatment, recreation and parks. The estimated annual
spend for this service is $24,000 - $40,000.
