53 Section 2. 1: PROJECT DESCRIPTION
54
The PROJECT is an effort to connect the City of Fort Walton Beach City Hall Complex
55 with the Engineering & Utility Services Department Field Office Complex at 203 Hollywood
56 Boulevard NW, the Facilities Maintenance Office at 116 Hollywood Boulevard SW, the
57 Sanitation Division Office at 14 Robinwood Drive SW, and the Fort Walton Beach Police
58
Department at 5 Hollywood Boulevard NE ( existing point to point between City Hall) to provide
59
increased bandwidth capacity while reducing recurring communication costs. High quality
60 corning single mode fiber optic cable will be used to connect all offices except the Sanitation
61 Division Office at 14 Robinwood Drive SW, which will be connected to the CITY network via
62
the Facilities Maintenance Office at 116 Hollywood Boulevard SW by CITY installed conduit
63 and CITY terminated multi -mode fiber optic cable between the buildings. The PROJECT will
64
also lay the groundwork for future connection of other CITY offices with additional splicing
65
and/or new fiber installation not included in this agreement by leveraging the Okaloosa County
66 Fiber Network ringed architecture.
67
68
The work covered in this document details the installation of approximately 4,500 linear
69
feet of corning single mode fiber optic cable in approximately 2,200 linear feet of new 2"
70
underground conduit and approximately 1, 900 linear feet of existing underground 2" conduit.
71 Existing Okaloosa County underground conduit will be used from the southeast side of the
72
intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and Beal Parkway to the southeast side of the intersection
73 of Hollywood Boulevard and Robinwood Drive. New underground conduit will be installed from
74
the existing pull box at Robinwood Drive SW across and along Hollywood Boulevard NW
75

79
to be used in point to point or ringed network architectures along all new single mode fiber
80
routes and suitable fiber counts on the existing Okaloosa County Fiber Network to complete the
81
CITY network strategy of connecting all effected offices by using a ringed fiber architecture that
82
eliminates a single point of failure and allows the network to traverse the Okaloosa County " Fort
83 Walton Beach Ring ". This ring will take the CITY network past the Fort Walton Beach Golf
84 Club Property on Lewis Turner Boulevard, Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and east on
85
Highway 98 back to the City of Fort Walton Beach City Hall Complex.

Subject: Investment Management Services for General Plan
L BACKGROUND:
1. 1. At the October 26, 2010 regular meeting, the City Council endorsed utilizing the

2. 1. 2. Wells Capital
2. 1. 3. Brown Advisory
2. 1. 4. Winslow Capital
2. 1. 5. DSM
2. 2. The report showed that Wells Capital Management was the best compliment and a
motion was made to interview the Firm.
