To Whom It May Concern,
My name is Nathaniel Webster and I am a member of the Emerald Coast Firefighters Council. We are seeking
approval to hold an event at Newman C. Brackin (Boardwalk) Park on September 28th, 2014. We are organizing an
event titled “Bar Wars” where teams compete in several games for trophies. The proceeds of the event will be
donated to a local charity.
Organizers will be on the beach to setup around 7 a.m. with a team meeting at 8:30 and the actual games starting at 9
a.m. We are expecting to be finished by 5 p.m.
We are expecting anywhere from 60 to 150 participants with approximately 20-30 fire fighter staff members to run
the games.
The games are as follows:
Beach Ball Volleyball- We will utilize the nets already placed at the boardwalk. If we have more than 15 teams
then we may set up two more nets.
Waiters Race- We will be setting up lanes for this relay style game where participants run with a tray carrying cups
and water.
Sack Race- We will utilize the same lanes for this race.
Keg Toss- We will have 3-5 empty kegs to be tossed into a supervised, cleared area.
Tug of War- This will be in a cleared area as well.
At the end of the games we will have a trophy delivery presentation and then clean up.
I am requesting an approval letter to be presented to the Board of County Commissioners in seeking a Special Event
Permit.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Thank you for your time.
Nathaniel Webster
