the radio station resulting in deliberate acts against the
City lasting three or four: days with groups scattered over
the City Hall Complex taking the place apart looking for

to different areas - diverting clues - and met with no
success. He said there was a great deal of damage done to
the City Hall complex.
Mr. Rogers returned to the room' a'nd the Attorney asked him
why the promotion had to be held in the Community Center)
and asked him what would be wrong with having it in a
church or school.

Manager s~~ gested St. Simon' s church as a possibility.
Rogers commented on the statements about the contest and said
he was sure the Manager' s comments were unintentional.
1 Manager said the City had notified the station of damage
and asked them to please shift clues somewhere else and
said that WNUE didn' t hide the Honda key until the final
day of the contest. . He said the City property was well
kept for the public, and that we liked to improve it rather
than harm it.
Rogers said under laws and controls they had to hide anything
like that before giving first clue on the air or risk loosing
license. He said they tried, but was too lat~ to divert
people with clues.
Manager said the man at the station who was contacted. refused
to do anything about, and Manager asked Rogers that they
please not do that anymore.
Manager pointed out the responsibility for the teens when
they come to the City' s community center, and the combining
of the functions would not be good along that line.
Rogers asked Council if it were a necessity, would they
cancel what was scheduled. Manager said he didn' t think that
was the question. Council agreed that they were in sympathy
with what WNUE was trying to do, and felt there was a need
for it.
Attorney asked if schools were available, and the community
center were not through being scheduled, why was it necessary
to cancel. He said it was simply that WNUE haddenied
been
the use of a building, and it wasn' t a selfish motive.
Rogers said it didn' t sound like it. When asked what he would
report, Rogers said the only choice he had was that the
City denied them the use of the Citizen' s building.
Attorney asked if he were going to say it was denied because
of previous commitments.
1 Rogers said say it was denied because of a
he had to teenage
dance the City had scheduled. Rogers asked Attorney if he
would like a job writing the news.
Rogers said he would never say anything that wasn' t completely
true - that he would say they couldn' t have the community
center, and the Attorney again asked him to say why, and
Rogers said becausecr previous commitments. Rogers left
the meeting! Dom.
