BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: June 16, 2015 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Elliot Kampert SUBJECT: Interjurisdiction Development Review Memorandum of Understanding DEPARTMENT: Growth Management BCC DISTRICT: All STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Staff requests Board authorization to provide cities with draft interjurisdictional memorandum of agreement to coordinate development review activities. BACKGROUND: The Okaloosa League of Cities has requested that the County enter into a memorandum of understanding with the cities to coordinate the review of development projects. Such an agreement was signed in 1997, but has become outdated and to a degree forgotten. The attached draft has been reviewed by city and county staff, as well as the County Attorney, and is ready for presentation to the cities with the Board's approval. OPTIONS: Approve the distribution of the proposed Memorandum of Understanding to the cities, Eglin, and Hurlburt Field, and the School Board for their consideration and adoption. RECOMMENDATIONS: Staff recommends that the Board approve the distribution of the proposed MOU to the cities for consideration and adoption.
