AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING PROOF OF RESIDENCE IN ORDER
TO BE ABLE TO DETERMINE RATES OR FEES TO BE CHARGED
FOR USE OF CITY RECREATIONAL OR CULTURAL FACILITIES,
PROVIDING THE EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
WHEREAS, under certain prescribed conditions the City Council has
permitted the use of City recreational and cultural facilities, and
WHEREAS, it is sometimes difficult to determine whether or not
an applicant for the use of these facilities is a resident of either the
City or the County,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF FORT WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA:
SECTION I. a) The use of the facilities for recreation, golf,
and the library are prescribed in other sections of this code. In addition
to compliance with these codes, any applicant who desires to use these
facilities and be entitled to fees charged for residents of either the
City of Fort Walton Beach, or Okaloosa County, must show satisfactory
evidence that he or she is a resident of the City or County.
b) Any of the following is considered to be satisfactory
evidence of residence:
1) Florida Drivers License with Okaloosa County address.
card with
2) Active duty military identification together
evidence of permanent assignment to this area.
3) Water deposit receipt from either the City or County
showing address.
4) Gas deposit receipt showing address.
5) Telephone Company deposit receipt showing address.
6) Gulf Power Company deposit receipt showing address.
7) Checkbook with name and home address printed on check.
c) Post Office box numbers are not acceptable for addresses.
SECTION II. This ordinance shall take effect ten ( 10) days
after it nd approval by the Mayor.
