BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
AGENDA REQUEST
DATE: November 5, 2013
TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board
FROM: Sunil Harman
SUBJECT: American Airlines Gate Relocation
DEPARTMENT: Airport
BCC DISTRICT: All
STATEMENT OF ISSUE: The Board of County Commissioners is requested to approve
Amendment Number 2 to the American Airlines Lease Allowing gate relocation.
BACKGROUND: American Airlines has requested it be allowed to relocate from ground level
boarding to upper concourse gate B-6. Airline lease agreements require amendment under
Section 3.06 to do so. The primary reason for the request is a safety related issue in that the
lower level gate is located very near the outgoing baggage area and causes concern due to wing
tip location. Secondarily, the upper level gate is located next to the US Airways gate B-5 and
will simplify operations if and when the proposed merger is approved.
OPTIONS: Approve, Table, Disapprove
RECOMMENDATIONS: Staff recommends approval of the relocation by amending the lease
and operating agreement.

BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
AGENDA REQUEST
DATE: November 5, 2013
TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board
FROM: Sunil Harman
SUBJECT: Approve Sale of Bob Sikes Industrial Park Parcel
DEPARTMENT: Airport
BCC DISTRICT: All
STATEMENT OF ISSUE: The Board of County Commissioners is requested to approve the
sale of Parcel 14 in the Bob Sikes Industrial Park, and the correction of the original survey
recorded with the deed.
BACKGROUND: Aviation Industrial Group, Inc.(AIG now Segars) purchased Parcel 14 in the
Bob Sikes Industrial park by Statutory Deed ("Deed") dated August 7, 2006. The Deed was
recorded with a legal description based on boundary surveys of adjacent properties with a
disclaimer that it was subject to change pending additional survey. Segars, as successor in
interest, now desires to sell the parcel to Erhard Koch and or assigns. The buyer proposes to
construct a museum/training facility related to explosive ordinance disposal. The Deed requires
the Board of County Commissioners provide written approval prior to the transfer of the
property. During due diligence, it was discovered that the "Exhibit A" Legal Description had not
been updated prior to recording. Attached is a corrected Description - Parcel 14, Bob Sikes
Industrial Park to be approved by the Board and recorded as a correction to the Deed.
OPTIONS: Approve, Table, Disapprove
RECOMMENDATIONS: Staff recommends that the Board of County Commissioners approve
the sale with the proposed use and also approve the corrected Exhibit A for recording with the
recorded Deed contingent upon the buyer preparing a deed including the restricting covenants of
the continuing obligations of the previously recorded Statutory Deed attached herein.
