The water coming from Wright Parkway and areas west of there will be filtered into the pond. Mr. deVaux said he objects that the water coming off Beal Parkway runs into a pipe right to the bayou where he swims; there must be a system so the water can be cleaner than it is than with all the oil that comes off Beal Parkway dumped directly into the bay. He asked about any system available to filter the water coming off Beal Parkway? There needs to be some system set up so it can be filtered before getting into the bayous or corrugated so it runs into the ground. The Public Works Director said there is always a way to solve the problem. They do not have the land. for one thing, and will have to purchase the land to put the structure for the pump station. He is sure there is land there available to do it. Mr. deVaux did not think this system, like we install it, meets the West Florida Regional Planning Council district for storm water drainage management system, or protection of habitat areas, and that is from the State guidelines not our guidelines. The Mayor agreed there is need of a solution, even if DER approved it; DER expressed need of a solution. with their number one concern being storm water run off and they are working on it.
