Fort Walton Town Council regular minutes, February 8, 1944 — reading text

The Town Council of the Town of Fort Wal tont Florida, met 1n regular session at 8 o' cloCk P. M. on thee day or ruary, l~, Fe", to notice thereof duly and regularly given. There were present pursuant the following me~ ers of the ! own- witl to- W.- C. Pryo~, heo1' ass, George Marler, O. M. Earley, neing CounCill a1 of the .-" ers of the Council W. C. Walker, P. G. Ronerts, Mrs. Liza Mae JaCkson. The Mayor except presided. The May'or announced that a quorum was present and that the meeting was open for the transaction or business. Thereupon Council~ Theo ' Aass lr' introduced the following ordinance which was read in tull in open council meeting as follows, witlto- ORDINANCE NO. 9 AN ORDINANCE TO ~ E ENTITLED An Ordinance Levying a Tax on Sales of Electricity and on Sales of qutane, Hydrogen and Other Like Gas Used tor Heating or Cooling Purposes and on Sales of Water and on Telephone Serv ce, CoOkingl Providing tor the Collection of SuCh Tax and Providing for the Disposition of the Proceeds Thereof, and Prescrihing Penalties tor the violation of this Ordinance. Thereupon Councilman ' theo ~ ass moved that the proposed ordinance he adopted and pasJed on its first reading and Councilman O. M. Earley seoonded the motion. A ballot was then taken on the motion to adopt and pass the said ordinance on its first reading, resulting as follows. Those voting " Yes". W. C. Pryor, O. M. Earley, Theo ~ asst George Marler Those voting " Nay".
