ORDINANCE NO. 65-8. 3 _ pea AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 8A-7 OF THE FORT WALTON BEACH CODE REQUIRING REINFORCING OF WALLS OF BUILDINGS IN THE COASTAL HIGH HAZARD DISTRICTS (CHHD), PROVIDING THE EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF, ~~ NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA: SECTION I. That Section 8A-7 of the Fort Walton Beach Code be amended by the addition of the following: (B)(1)(e) All buildings under construction in the Coastal High Hazard Districts (CHHD) shall have vertical rods from foundation to tie beam in all walls that are more than three blocks in height. No. 5 vertical rods shall be installed in all corners and No. 4 rods installed every eight (8) feet on center. SECTION II. This ordinance shall take effect ten (10) days after its passage and approval by the Mayor.
