REQUEST FOR SIDEWALKS ON Mayor recognized Mr. Herman Brantley of

he is concerned about the problem that
we don' t have sidewalks on Holmes in the
area of the school. We need sidewalks for
the kids walking to and from school. I
would certainly hope that Council would
take this into consideration.
Mayor stated that Council is very much
aware of this. We have a sidewalk com-

and I think there should be something
done about it.
Mayor asked City Manager to study the
situation to see what can be done.
PLANNING BOARD TO STUDY Mr. Hunt stated that we are getting
SIDEWALKS involved with sidewalks more and more
every day. I would like to see the Plan-
ning Board take into consideration and
make a recommendation to possibly require
sidewalks to be constructed in new sub-
divisions. I know this is an added ex-
pense and will increase the initial cost
of subdivisions, but I think it is needed.
WATER TO SANTA ROSA MALL Mayor recognized Mrs. Anita Norviel, who
asked for an explanation of rumors that
the City is supplying water to Santa Rosa
Mall. City Manager explained that about
eighteen months ago Council approved an
extension of a 10- inch main from Anchors
Street to Mary Esther City limits with a
cut- off valve, which was paid for by
Mary Esther. This was done to supplement
Mary Esther water pressure in case of a
fire at the mall. It was discovered that
the valve was turned on, at which time
the City billed the Town of Mary Esther.
The water was left on at the request of
Mary Esther, and Mary Esther has paid the
bill plus a premium of 25%. The valve
will be cut off on March 15 and only turned
on when an official request is made to
City Fire Department in case of fire at
the mall.
