52-16 A RESOLUTION TO BE ENTITLED A RESOLUTION to provide for the acceptance of the Fort Walton Pier from the Fort Walton Pier Association of Fort Walton, Florida. WHEREAS, the Fort Walton Pier Association has obtained a permit for the construction of a community plier; md WHEREAS, the Fort Walton Pier Association has begun construction of a Community Pier; and WHEREAS, the Town of Fort Walton has donatéd funds to assist in the erection of the community pier; and WHEREAS, the Pier ia being erected from funds donated by the civic minded citizens of Fort Walton and Okaloosa County, Florida, md supported by private donations; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Fort Walton Pier Associa- tion members to be covered by public liability and Workmen's compensation insurance; and WHEREAS, the project is of such a nature that no company will cover such risks except as an adjunct to other coverage; and WHEREAS, the Town of Fort Walton, Florida has been offered coverage of Public Liability.and Workments Compensation by the said Town's Insurance carrier, the Iowa Mutual Insurance Company; and WHEREAS, the Fort Walton Pier Association has agreed to furnish all remaining costs of construction, including labor costs md costs of increased insurances oo, (} ( NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Fort Walton as follows, to-wits Section 1. The Fort Walton Pier is hereby accepted by the Town of Fort Walton, and the responsibility for Workman's Compensation and for public liability is hereby assumed subject to the Fort Walton! Pier Associations furnishing all funds. Section 2. All employees of the Fort Walton Pier will be considered as, and carried on the payrolls of the Town of Fort Walton, and paid for from special funds earmarked for that purpose. Section 3. The Fort Walton Pier Association shall be responsible for the costs of all labor, insurance md incidental costs for the completion of said pier, and will hold the city blameless for any costs so incurred, but the Town of Fort Walton shall make all disbursements from its records as a regular project of the Town of Fort Walton. Section .
