RESOLUTION 2001 — 05
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER ON
BEHALF OF THE CITY OF FORT WALTON BEACH TO
EXECUTE A MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE
CITY OF FORT WALTON BEACH AND THE STATE OF
FLORIDA, SETTING FORTH MAINTENANCE PROVISIONS,
AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
WHEREAS, the City Council wants the City of Fort Walton Beach to look as
attractive as possible for the citizens and tourists; and
WHEREAS, the City is of the opinion that the Department of Transportation’s
highways that contain roadside areas should be attractively maintained by mowing, edging and
litter removal; and
WHEREAS, the City will have a vested interest in maintaining the areas to a
higher standard than the Department of Transportation can.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF FORT WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. The City Manager on behalf of the City of Fort Walton
Beach is hereby authorized to execute a maintenance agreement between the City of
Fort Walton Beach and the State of Florida, a sample of which is attached hereto and
by reference made a part hereof.
SECTION 2. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
approval by the City Council and signature of the Mayor.
