Subject: City of Fort Walton Beach Television Channel Policies and Procedures
Backaround:
On March 28, 2006, the Fort Walton Beach City Council passed Ordinance Number 1702, a
new Cable Franchise Agreement between the City of Fort Walton Beach and Cox
Communications. Section 14- B of the franchise agreement allowed for the creation of a City run
to a
Government Access Channel. Cox Communications agreed to provide the City with access
shared with other
designated analog government access channel on the basic service tier to be
local governments for airing noncommercial government access programming ( Cox Channel 6).
In addition to the shared analog channel, Cox Communications agreed to provide the City a 24
hour digital
