STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Purchasing received bids for services listed under Bid# 53-13 for
Haz-Waste Services. The bid opening took place at 3:15 pm on Thursday August 22, 2013 in
Crestview.
BACKGROUND: The bid was advertised to procure disposal services as well as labor to
support the County's household hazardous waste program (HHW) and the mobile collection
events under the HHW Cooperative Arrangement Grant sponsored by the Florida Department of
Environmental Protection (FDEP). HHW expenses are reimbursable under the aforementioned
grant.
Five bids were received as shown in the attached Bid Tabulation Sheet. A memorandum is
attached explaining the evaluation and recommendation for award.
OPTIONS: N/A
RECOMMENDATIONS: Staff requests Board consideration to award the contract for Haz-
Waste Services to EQ-The Environmental Quality Company and further authorization for the
Chairman to execute the contract with EQ upon completion by the Purchasing Department.
