Sincerely, H. GENE SMITH Mayor IL. 38 6/ 26/ 79 Mr. Rigdon said, our administration has gone way out in preparing these recommendations. We have a big investment in the Golf Course, and unless we do something about the condition the golfers will not play there. This is something that should have been done a few years ago. We have to do it now. After a discussion concerning the budget Golf Course, Mr. Rigdon moved that City recommendation be approved. by Mr. Bishop. Motion was for the Manager' s seconded n Mr. Hunt asked if there will be a public hearing. Mr. we don' t have Rigdon replied, any choice. I think the taxpayers would love to know the people using the golf course will be paying for it. It is Council' s decision to proceed with the surcharge. Mr. said, it just bothers me that we are going Hunt to do this without consulting the people who will be paying for it. City Manager said, the work needs to be done. I recommend that you approve that. But if you want to hold the method of funding for a couple of weeks until we can get some input-- you might decide you want some other form of funding. Question was called for and motion carried unani- mously. INVENTORY OF CITY- Mr. Bishop stated that there is some City- owned OWNED PROPERTY property that is apparently of value to the City. no I think the logical thing to do would be to have an inventory made of the property the City owns, and that which has no apparent value be placed on the market and sold through bids. This would turn the property back over to private enterprise and would increase the tax base.
