1- 26- 93 273 PURCHASE CITY OWNED Robert 227 Beachview Drive. Whelton. requested Council PROPERTY ( HOLLYWOOD) - consider offering for sale all or a portion of a 12 acre ROBERT WHELTON parcel of City property located immediately north of the Specter Broadcasting property. He expressed his desire to purchase 2 to 2 1/ 2 acres accessible from Bishop Street in order to erect a clean. environmentally safe mini storage warehouse; explained it would cause a very insignificant traffic flow problem for a residential and expressed his belief the City did not need I area; more recreational areas as there are three ball fields behind Fred Hendricks Center that are rarely used. Discussion centered the designation on of future recreational properties, the potential loss of recreation lands used by the City but not City owned, and the potential need of City owned property for future expansion. Council took no action on the request. The Acting City Manager acknowledged he will continue to work with Mr. Whelton to locate a suitable piece of property.
