believes one or two will be considered as non- conforming and can operate
s such.
Following some discussion, Councilman Roberts made a motion that we accept
this petition and turn it over to the Finance Committee, who will consult
with the City Manager, and make report and recommendations. Seconded by

Answering inquiry from a group from Gurardian Homes residents, Manager
advised he is using our wellpoint system to lower the water table in the
area. He also stated the pipe will be laid and the ground re- covered
by Friday, if we have fair weather. Sani tary sewer engineering plans
are in this office and pipe will be laid as soon as we can establish a
special assessment district. He intended to have both storm and sanitary
lines laid at one time but the water table is too high just now. Manager
also stated the ditch along Beal Street has been lowered, using our own
dragline. State ROAd Department plans to have a crew in by the end of
this week to lower the culvert on the other side of the street.
Mr. TOJIl Patrick, representing Elbert Davis Realty Company, asked Council' s
consideration of leasing City- owned property in the vicinity of the Disposal
Plant for a micro- wave relay station. He stated the interested persons
would like. ten year lease, with an option to renew, on approximately
four acres of land. Mr. Patrick stated further that a rental of $ 300. 00
a year on this land was being offered, and that no utilities other than
power would be required. It was established that the erection of this
relay station in Fort Walton Beach would not improve reception here, but
should result in program improvement.
Councilman Roberts is adverse to this proposal; first, because it might
jeopardize present
our it would tie up land.
radio service, and second,
He feels the land in question will be residential property in years to
come and does not think this tower will enhance the value of the property.
He suggested this matter be referred to the Finance- Administrative Committee.
