Mr. Rigdon moved that this ordinance be approved on first
reading. Motion seconded by Mr. Carnathan and carried
unanimously.
Mr. Rogers asked that the rules be waived and that the ordinance
be passed on 3rd and final reading. He so moved and Mr. Ready
seconded the motion. The vote was aye unanimously.
Under new business Mr. Rogers requested that Council take
action to obtain a grant from the Federal Government for at
least 1000 feet of property to be designated as recreational,
and for the construction of a canal across government controlled
Santa Rosa Island, located west of the fence. He stated that he
felt Council had been dragging their feet on this project and
he would like some immediate action taken. He also suggested that
concrete which is being taken up during road construction could
be salvaged and" used in the building of the canal to make it
permanent. Mr. Ready seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous
I in favor.

Gentlemen:
Allow me to you as having in your jurisdiction such
congratulate
men as Mr. Bob Clements and Mr. Joe Morgan. They are to be
congratulated on a job well done. They and their men have
worked a miracle on a drainage situation at Adams and Poulton.
We were seriously considering establishing a fishing hole stocked with
Bass and Brim, this corner was so flooded when we had the slightest
amount of rain. However now it is drained to a point that
unless we have an unusual heavy rain - the drainage is able to
take care of the water. We appreciate Bob' s and Joe' s efforts.
Holiday greetings!
Respectfully,
s/ Samuel L. Levy
