JULY 2. 1994
INTRODUCTION A special meeting of the City Council of Fort Walton
Beach. Florida, was held on Saturday. July 2. 1994. at
4: 00 p. m.. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. with
the following members present:

Councilmen: Nick Nicholson
Bob Campbell
Susan Myers
Dean Covey
Jim Murtha
Cissy Wyninegar
Absent: Chris Gibson
Also Present: Reid
Silverboard, City Manager: Helen
Spencer, City Clerk; Jerry Miller. City Attorney; Gail
Abraham. Finance Director: Department Heads
CALL TO ORDER The Mayor called the meeting to order and advised this
was an emergency special meeting and the news media was
notified.
TROPICAL STORM ALBERTO Fire Chief Williams briefed Council on Tropical Storm
Alberto and reported that the Emergency Office
County
declared a state of emergency in the County which puts
into operation the City' s emergency planning. Council
received a briefing on the preparatory actions taken.
MUTUAL AID AGREEMENT Mrs. Wyninegar moved to adopt a Statewide Mutual Aid
Agreement for Catastrophic Disaster Response and
Recovery. Motion was seconded by Mr. Covey and carried
unanimously with Nicholson. Campbell. Myers. Covey.
Murtha. and Wyninegar in favor ( Gibson absent>.
Council received an explanation on how the Statayide
Mutual Aid Agreement works.
ADJOURNMENT There being no further business. the meeting adjourned
at 4: 20 p. m.
