STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Risk Management seeks authorization to issue a request for
proposals for actuarial services.
BACKGROUND: Casualty Actuarial Consultants Incorporated currently provides actuarial
services for the county. The county utilizes the actuarial studies to project losses as part of the
county’s risk management program. These services have been provided by Casualty Actuarial
Consultants, Incorporated since 2004. This RFP does not include actuarial services related to
GASB 45 compliance performed by Milliman, Incorporated.
We also request the following selection committee be appointed:
Gary R. Real - Risk Management
Jon Morris - Airports
Gary Stanford or Designee - Clerk of Courts
Dave Parisot - County Commissioner liaison
OPTIONS: Approve/Disapprove
RECOMMENDATIONS: Approve the issuance of a Request for Proposals for actuarial
services and approve selection committee members.
