January 8, 2013
The City Manager continued that with the County renewing their program in 2014, the City
would likely piggyback with their updated program.

in the future.
Second Nominations for Appointment to Fill Council Seat 3 Vacancy
The Mayor Pro Tern announced this is the last opportunity for nominations for Seat 3 and that
Council will make an appointment at their January 22 meeting. He noted there is one
nomination to date, Mike Holmes, and asked for any other nominations.
Mr. Goodwin nominated John S. Mead as a candidate for the vacancy for Seat 3.
Discussion included whether there were any legal or ethical conditions since both nominees have
qualified to run for the same seat in the March elections. The City Attorney advised there were
no legal issues that he could see, that the issue of nominated and appointed will be a short- term
appointment, and that there may or not be an advantage at election time.
As there were no further nominations, the vote on the nomination of Mr. Mead was
unanimous.
