BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: February 17, 2015 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Sunil Harman SUBJECT: RONDAN CEW, LLC Lease Cancellation Request DEPARTMENT: Airport BCC DISTRICT: All STATEMENT OF ISSUE: A proposed lease cancellation of RONDAN CEW, LLC at the Bob Sikes Airport is being presented to the Board of County Commissioners for approval. BACKGROUND: On December 6, 2013 the Board approved Amendment Number One to the RONDAN CEW, LLC lease to extend hangar vertical construction date. Amendment Number One stated, "Vertical construction of the hangar must be started within one (1) year and the hangar must be completed within two (2) years of the execution of this amendment. Failure to comply with this requirement may result in automatic termination of the Lease without prior written notice by County." Construction of the hangar has not started as of this date. The Department of Airports is requesting to cancel this lease. The contract and lease internal coordination sheet are attached. OPTIONS: Approve, Reject or Table. RECOMMENDATIONS: Staff recommends that the Board approve the cancellation of the lease with RONDAN CEW, LLC, as described above. RECOMMENDED BY: APPROVED BY: John Hofstad, County Administrator
