Re: Radio Transfer to Sheriff’s Office Explorers
In FY15, we began purchasing new Motorola HT1250 portable radios in order to phase out our
existing system of HT750 radios which were becoming obsolete. This purchase resulted in a
small surplus of HT750 radios. Okaloosa County Sheriff Larry Ashley has expressed an interest
in these radios to aid his growing Sheriff Explorer program. Currently, we would be able to
easily accommodate the reallocation of twenty (20) older HT750 radios in support of this
program. I believe such a donation would be of great benefit to this local community program
and its young participants.
As such, I would respectfully request authorization to permanently transfer the below identified
radios to the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office in accordance with the attached request from
Sheriff Larry Ashley:
