BACKGROUND: The Inspections Division of the Growth Management Department has long sought the ability to accept credit cards in payment for building permit and other applications. Due to the age of the Division's hardware and obsolescence of its software, it was not possible to accept credit cards until the server supporting the permitting function was upgraded, and the permitting software brought to the current release so it could be supported by the provider, Tyler Technologies. The proposed credit card service provider, PayPros, Inc., uses software that was developed to specifically integrate with the Tyler Technology software used by the Inspections Division. Authorization of the Merchant Application and Agreement will enable Information Systems to activate the credit card module and the Division to begin accepting credit cards. As shown in the attached completed coordinating review sheet, the proposed Merchant Application and Agreement have been reviewed and approved by the Risk Management and Purchasing departments as well as the County Attorney. OPTIONS: Approve or disprove the Merchant Application and Agreement. RECOMMENDATIONS: The Growth Management Department recommends that the Board approve and authorize the Chairman to sign the proposed PayPros Merchant Applicant and Agreement, and authorize the Chairman or County Administrator, as appropriate, to sign any subsequent subagreemens to this agreement.
