AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THE INTENTION OF THE CITY
OF FORT WALTON BEACH TO ANNEX A TRACT OF LAND TO
SAID CITY UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 171.04,
FLORIDA STATUTES, AND PROVIDING THE EFFECTIVE
DATE OF SAID ORDINANCE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Fort Walton Beach,
Florida, has determined that annexation of certain property will
Contribute to the general welfare of the said city and will be in
the public interest and provide additional area for the rapid growth
and expansion of the City.
Now, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FORT WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA: . .
SECTION 1: That under the provisions of Section 171.04, Florida
Statutes, it is the intention of the City of Fort Walton Beach to
annex a tract of land to said city at the expiration of thirty (30)
days from the first publication of this ordinance after its ap-
Proval by the Council and said tract being the following described
property:
Commencing at the southeast corner of the northeast
quarter of the southeast quarter of Section 8, Town-
e South, Range 24 West, Okaloosa County, Florida, as a
point of beginning, thence West 880 feet, thence North
1,320 feet, thence East 880 feet, thence South 1,320 feet
to the point of beginning, lying and being a portion of
the northeast quarter of the southeast quarter of Section
8, Township 2 South, Range 24 West, and comprising 26.66
acres, more or less.
AND The east half of the northeast quarter of the north-
west quarter, Section 2, Township 2 South, Range 24 West,
SAVE AND EXCEPT a strip 50 feet wide off the north,
south and west sides of said tract, deeded to Board of
Commissioners, Okaloosa County, Florida, as right of way
for public roads,
SECTION 2: Any objections to the above annexation may be made
in the manner and by those authorized under the aforesaid section of
the Florida Statutes.
SECTION 3: This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage and approval by the City Council and Mayor.
SECTION 4, This Ordinance shall be published for four (4)
consecutive weeks in some newspaper published in the City of Fort
Walton Beach, Florida.
