coordination with their striping at the US 98/ SR 85/Brooks Street
intersection. Estimated timing - mid- February.
VMS, the FDOT asset management contractor, will install the flexible
bollards and signage after the striping is installed. Estimated timing -
mid- February.

US 98 Congestion Traffic Congestion Improvement Project (As of 2/ 1/07)
Location: US 98/Municipal Parking Lot (just west of Florida Place)
Immediate Modification: Eliminate left-turn movements at this intersection,
making the Municipal Parking Lot access right- in and right- out only. This
would be accomplished with flexible bollards and signage.
Benefit: Decreases US 98 traffic delays caused by left-turning vehicles.

Immediate Modification: Relocate the stop bar for the southmost westbound
lane, moving it east in order to increase the radius for the Florida Place
vehicles turning east onto US 98.
Benefit: Improve traffic safety by providing greater separation between
vehicles in the intersection.
