26 MEETING OF SPECIAL MEETING OF CITY COUNGIL OF FORT WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA August 29, 1972 INTRODUCTION A special meeting of the City Council of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, was held at the City Hall at 8:25 PM, August 29, 1972, with the following members present: Mayor Maurice McLaughlin COUNCILMEN: Hurdis A. Brock Fred Hedrick George A. Palmer Art Schweizer H. C. Van Buskirk Also present were: City Manager, City Clerk- Finance Director, Public Works Director, and representatives of Converse Engineering Co. Mayor read a waiver of notice setting a special meeting for August 29, 1972, at that time for the purpose of discussing a mower bid, a tractor bid, and dragline and bulldozer repairs. The waiver is attached hereto and made a part of these minutes. REPAIRS TO DRAGLINE Council authorized repairs to the Northwest Dragline estimated to cost an additional $2,350.00 for parts and $450.00 for labor. Council unanimously approved authorization for these repairs on motion by Mr. Palmer, seconded by Mr. Schweizer. Council unanimously authorized repairs to the REPAIRS TO BULLDOZER HD11 Bulldozer estimated to cost $3,026.01 on motion duly made and seconded. Council considered two bids for Golf Course equipment. Bids for Triplex Mower received August 21, 1972 were: Tieco, Inc. $1895.00 Toro Distributing Co. TRIPLEX MOWER BID Tieco Gulf Coast $1690.00 $1850.00 So. Specialty Co. Jacobsen Mfg. Co. $1879.00 $1895.00 Joe Brady Associates $2679.00 266 Golf Course Manager recommended that bid be awarded to low bidder meeting specifications, Tieco Gulf Coast at $1850.00. It was moved and duly seconded that the bid be awarded to Tieco Gulf Coast at $1850.00. Motion carried unanimously. Bids for a Turf Tractor received on August 21 and award made to low bidder Jacobsen Manufacturing Co. at $4,368.00 was discussed, TURF TRACTOR BID A letter from Jacobsen Manufacturing Co. was read stating that their price bid of $4,368.00 was a typographical error and letter enclosed an office work copy of the bid. Jacobsen asked to be relieved of performing contractual delivery at $4,368.00. Golf Course Manager recommended in view of the apparent error that the bid be awarded to Tieco Gulf Coast the next low bidder meeting all specifications, and that Jacobsen be relieved of the bid award previous- ly made. Mr. Brock moved that the recommenda- tion be approved. Motion was duly seconded and carried unanimously. Council agreed to discuss a change in the date of the next regular meeting and this was added to the waiver. A motion was unanimously carried to change the September 11 committee meeting and the Septem- ber 12 Council meeting to September 5, 1972, at 7:30 p.m. ADJOURNMENT Meeting adjourned at 8:40 p.m. APPROVED: Nn tele SOSLDIIFVE ATTEST: (hb SE CHARLES H.
