Motion was seconded by Mr. Campbell.
Dan Krumel, Exe~ utive Director of West Florida Regional
Planning Council, said the resolution initiated
was by
the Council membership, which is made up of elected
officials from Pensacola to Panama City plus seven
Governor appointees, and was voted unanimously to
present to the various cities and counties in the
region for their endorsement because it this
was
lelt
was not in the best interest of the
people of Northwest
Florida; it was felt with the
ab9lishment of regional
planning councils, the DCA would be calling more shots
in the individual communitie.s because scmeone would
have to continue to do the work done in the past by the
WFRPC. In to the question the
response on amount paid
last year by Fort Walton Beach for their share of
contribution, Mr. Krumel responded the contribution
from Fort Walton Beach to the Regional Planning Council
for 92 is $ 1, 090. 00.
91/ He noted that membership on
the Regional Planning Council is mandated for Counties,
but is optiona~ for Cities, and Fort Walton Beach
elected to join, and has been a member since 1974.
