Beedie, City Manager From: Tim Bolduc, Engineering and Utilities Services Director Date: December 16, 2014 Subject: Telemetry System Upgrade for FCC Narrow- Banding Sole Source 1. BACKGROUND: 1. 1. On September 25, 2012, City Council awarded a sole source bid to Data Flow Systems, Inc. for the purchase of Telemetry Control Units ( TCU) according to proposals provided on July 11, 2012. 1. 2. Staff developed a five ( 5) year plan to convert the current control units for the telemetry system beginning in FY 2011- 12 and ending in FY 2015- 16 to the new TCU system. The plan prioritizes lift stations with radio systems that do not meet FCC regulations to ensure compliance throughout the process. 1. 3.
