STORAGE OF HAZARDOUS Mr. Bishop said, a while back I made a motion
MATERIAL that we look into storing hazardous material
in the City. How are we coming on that?
City Manager replied, we have discussed it.
We would like to sit down with a committee of
I
Council and pursue it further.
Mr. Bishop replied, I would like to see us go
further with it. Could we put a suspenS10n
on any new hazardous material storage until we
can study it?
City Attorney said, any existing storage will
be grandfathered in. But it would preclude
and prevent future development of such a nature.
Mr. Bishop said, we just want to suspend it
until we can review it and come up with some
guidelines.
City Attorney replied, you will have to have
an ordinance.
Mr. Hunt said he would like to support Mr.
Bishop.
Mr. moved to temporarily suspend any
Bishop
new storage of hazardous material in the City
until we can review it. Motion was seconded
by Mr. Hunt.
Mr. said, I assume the suspension would
Hunt
just be until the City Attorney could draw up
an ordinance and have it properly advertised.
Question was called for and motion carried
unanimously.
