PROPOSED CONTRACT FOR Mr. William Porter, Executive Director for the
FWB REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY Fort Walton Beach Redevelopment Agency, presented
a memo to Councilrecommending that the City
accept the proposed contract submitted by the
consulting firm of Wortman & Mann of Jackson,
Mississippi, to prepare an overall redevelop-
ment plan for the Downtown Area. Basic con-
tract is for $ 38, 000, plus an additional cost
estimate of $ 13, 000 for aerial photographic and
topographic map work and printing services, for
a total cost of $ 51, 000.
Mr. Porter explained the additional $ 13, 000 cost.
Printing services will cost $ 7, 000, and will
include a five- volume final report-- one volume
for each of the five elements. There will be
twenty- five copies printed in black and white
at an estimated cost of $ 600. Printing costs
will also include a 25- 30 page Executive Summary
Booklet printed in full color to be distributed
to people in the City and prospective developers.
There will be 500 copies printed at a cost of
3, 500. A Public Information Brochure, full-
color, will be printed for distribution to
business people and civic groups. We recommend
5, 000 copies at a cost of $ 2, 400. This totals
7, 000 for printing costs. The other $ 6, 000
is for an aerial mosiac photograph at a cost
of $ 2, 200 and a topographic mat at a cost of
4, 250. The agency is attempting to obtain
the aerial photograph and topographic map from
the Air Force or the Department of Transporta-
tion, and if we are successful in doing this,
the total cost will be reduced by $ 6, 000.
Dr. Houghton asked if there is not already
available an aerial photograph and topographic
map?
Mr. Porter
replied, not this detail.
in It
would be impossible to go into a detailed study

checked and there doesn' t seem to be one avail-
able.
Mr. added that a topographic map is some-

thing that can be used at City Hall also, and
I think we do need it.
