Mr. C. We Isbill, administrative assistant to the Okaloosa County

le "Okaloosa County is at the very bottom of the list of starting and
maximum salaries" in the State:
®, ‘Branch Plants of the General Electric Company and Martin Aircraft
Company were lost recently to the Northwest Florida area because of some sub-
standerc conditions existing in the school system" and:
3. That Okaloosa County is getting the least desivable teachers of all the

for the children of their personnel who are potential plant employees, will not
locate in such areas". (Okaloosa County is such).
6. The following resolution is presented for the consideration ana acticn
of the Councils
The Council of the City of Fort Walton Beach urges the County Commissioners
of Okaloosa County to use every legal power at their command to raise the sub-
standard conditions of the school, lower the number of substandard teachers, and
to increase the funds allotted to the school system, of Okaloosa County.
If approved by the Council, a copy of this resolution is to be sent to each
of the County Commissioners, the County Tax Assessor, and to the State Cc
Superintendent of Educatione
whereas we disagree with the statement of Mr. Isbill, as quoted in Item i3
above, believing that many of our fine teachers are most desirable, we go ahead
and urge the County Commissioners to do all'possible to raise sub-standard
concitions.
