ORDINANCE S01,.s-
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 5- 1 OF THE CODE OF
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF FORT WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA,
TO ADOPT THE 1979 EDITION OF THE STANDARD SWIMMING
POOL CODE WITH MINOR EXCEPTIONS, PROVIDING THE
EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WALTON BEACH,
FLORIDA:
SECTION I. That Section 5- 1 of the Code of Ordinances of
the City of Fort Walton Beach is hereby amended by the addition of
the following to Section 5- 1. 3:
There is hereby adopted by the City, for the purpose of
establishing rules and regulations for compliance, the Standard
1979 Edition, with the exception of Section 105. 4
Swimming Pool Code,
of that Code pertaining to fee schedule and Section 315 pertaining
to heights of fences around pools".
Fees charged for construction of swimming pools will be made
in accordance with Section 5- 1. 1 of the City Code".
SECTION II. The present Section 5- 108 of the City Code is
deleted and the following is added:
All swimming pool installations must be completed. The pool
shall be completely filled with water and in operation before final
inspection. For the safety of others, the pool shall be completely
enclosed with wall, fence other substantial structure not
an approved or
less than four ( 4) feet nor more than six ( 6) feet in height before
final inspection".
SECTION III. Section 5- 107 is amended to read as follows:
It shall be unlawful to construct, maintain, install or
swimming pool in the City, except in compliance with the
enlarge any
provisions of the City Code and the Standard Swimming Pool Code, adopted
elsewhere in this code."
SECTION IV. The following sections of the present City Code
are deleted:
Section 5- 108~ Section 5- 110; Section 5- 111; Section 5- 112~
Section 5- 113; Section 5- 114; Section 5- 115~ Section 5- 117, ( a) ( g) ~
Section 5- 118~ Section 5- 119; Section 5- 120~ Section 5- 121; Section 5- 122;
Section 5- 123~ and Section 5- 124.
