BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: January 6, 2015 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Zan Fedorak SUBJECT: Request Approval of Quote for Edge Painting (R1500065) DEPARTMENT: Purchasing BCC DISTRICT: All STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request approval of quote for Edge Painting (R1500214). BACKGROUND & ANALYSIS: The Airports Department entered a requisition to sandblast, prime, and paint walkway canopies at the Northwest Florida Regional Airport (VPS). Purchasing staff solicited vendors for the work and Edge Painting was the only vendor that responded to the request for quotes with a price of $55,200. This work will include sand blasting, priming, and painting walkway canopies. This quote also includes a 15 year manufacturer warranty against corrosion and loss of color and gloss. Purchasing policy requires that all purchases above $50,000 be purchased through a bid process. However, the policy also states that the Board may approve purchases over $50,000 without formal bids where it is deemed to be most advantageous to the County. The Airports Department has reviewed the quote from Edge Painting and has determined it is fully responsive to their needs. Staff requests Board approval of the quote in lieu of bids from Edge Painting in the amount of $55,200. Staff will process the requisition for a purchase order if/when the Board approves the purchase. OPTIONS: Approve/Deny the quote from Edge Painting in the amount of $55,200 to sandblast, prime, and paint the walkway canopies at the Northwest Florida Regional Airport (VPS). RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of the quote from Edge Painting in the amount of $55,200 to sandblast, prime, and paint the walkway canopies at the Northwest Florida Regional Airport (VPS).
