259 MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING OF CITY COUNCIL OF FORT WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA June 25, 1976 INTRODUCTION A special meeting of the City Council of Fort Walton Beach, Florida was held at City Hall on Friday, June 25, 1976 at 4: 00 p. m. with the following members present: COUNCILMEN George A. Palmer C. H. Rigdon John H. Bishop James K. Baughman Mayor Smith ALSO PRESENT: City Attorney, City C1erk- Finance Director ABSENT: Hurdis A~ Brock, Robert L. Hunt, Charles H. Hill WAIVER OF NOTICE OF MEETING" Mayor called the meeting to order and read the " Waiver of Notice of Meeting" and a notice signed by the Mayor requesting that the special meeting be held. ( Copies attached) Mayor stated that the purpose of the special meeting is to conffider request for a var- iance for a non- conforming use addition to WNUE building mWright Parkway. Mayor recognized H. C. " Dutch" Van Buskirk, who explained the situation. He stated that they thought the property was zoned industrial, but it is zoned R- 1. It would cost us a considerable amount of money to wait until the next regularly scheduled Council meeting, that is why we requested a special meeting. What we are asking is that you give us a variance to add on to our building in two places. One addition will be on the office section and the other will be on the talent section. We abut to no residential property. The additions will conform to building codes. Mr. Rigdon moved that the request be approved.
