The potential sponsorship is for an amount not to exceed $30,000. The TDC is recommending this sponsorship and certifying that it meets the criteria of section G.600 Sponsorships. BACKGROUND: The Council, at it's October 24, 2013 meeting, reviewed a sponsorship request in the amount of $35,000 for a potential 2013 Florida State HOG Rally. The Rally, if awarded, would be held on Okaloosa Island, October 21-26, 2013. The Rally was previously held in Okaloosa County in 2010 and 2011. The 2013 Rally will mark the 110th anniversary of the Harley Davidson Motor Company. After a robust discussion among the Council members, with significant input from hospitality industry professionals in the audience, the Council voted to recommend a $25,000 sponsorship for pre-event marketing and attendance stimulation efforts, and to award an additional $5,000 sponsorship should the HOG Rally generate the agreed to number of room nights indicated in that section of the application. OPTIONS: Approve/Disapprove RECOMMENDATIONS: Approve potential host city sponsorship as reviewed, approved and requested by the TDC at it's October 24, 2012 meeting. Additionally, the Florida State HOG Rally has the support of the National HOG Rally organization organization.
