BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: September 6, 2016 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Elliot Kampert SUBJECT: Supplemental Joint Participation Assistance Number 2 for Commuter Assistance Grant DEPARTMENT: Growth Management BCC DISTRICT: ALL STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Staff requests that the Board authorize the Chairman to sign the Supplemental Joint Participation Agreement Number 2 (JPA) FY 2017 Commuter Assistance Grant Funding and to sign the Authorizing Resolution. BACKGROUND: The Public Works and Water & Sewer departments each operate commuter vans with routes from Crestview, Niceville and West County to Fort Walton Beach. The grant funding will support operating cost for 7 vehicles and approximately 25 commuters per day. Upon approval, FDOT will reimburse the County $10,000, or 50 percent of the costs to operate commuter vehicles; whichever is less, through September 30, 2018. RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends Board authorize the Chairman to sign the attached JPA number 2 for FY 2017 Commuter Grant Funding and to sign the Authorizing Resolution as well as all future grant documents during the term of the grant.
