STATEMENT OF ISSUE: The Western Destin Beach Restoration Project is complete and the
Dune Enhancement project is about to commence. This is an informational update only and no
action is requested.
BACKGROUND:
Western Destin Beach Restoration Project Update
• Over 600,000 cy of sand placed
• Beach elevation increased over 5 feet
• Shoreline advanced on average over 180 feet
• 23 Marine turtles safely netted and relocated
• Total project cost under $8 million authorized by the BOCC
Dune Enhancement Project Update
Tentative Schedule

• Delivery of Fence Material ...........................April 1
• Fence Installation ........................................April 2 to April 15
• Plant Installation Western Destin ................April 15 to April 30
