SUBJECT: Update - Shalimar Annex Project

STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request Board direction on the Shalimar Annex project.
BACKGROUND: At the October 15, 2013 BCC meeting, the Board directed Lord & Son (the
Design-Build Contractor for the Shalimar Annex Project) to move forward with the Phase II
design process. The Phase II design includes, but is not limited to, refining the space planning
data that was collected during the Task Force meetings, developing conceptual drawings based
on that refined data, and then developing 100% construction drawings based on the selected
design concept.
As the space planning data is being refined, some questions have emerged that will significantly
affect the development of the project's design concepts. Staff requests the Board's direction
prior to continuing with the project's design development.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Request Board direction on the Shalimar Annex project.
