BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST DATE: January 20, 2015 TO: Honorable Chairman and Members of the Board FROM: Rick Owen SUBJECT: Okaloosa County Gas District BOD County Representative DEPARTMENT: County Administrator BCC DISTRICT: All STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Request Board approve the reappointment of Mr. Aubrey Sims as the Okaloosa County representative to the Okaloosa County Gas District Board of Directors (OGDBOD). BACKGROUND: The Okaloosa Gas District Board of Directors was formed by legislative act in 1953 and initially included the municipalities of Crestview, Fort Walton Beach, Niceville, and Valparaiso. This Act was amended in 1986 to include a representative of the unincorporated portions of Okaloosa County, to be appointed by the Board of County Commissioners. At the BCC meeting on September 3, 2013, the Board appointed Mr. Sims to the OGDBOD to fill the vacant seat for the remainder of the four year term. RECOMMENDATIONS: Staff recommends the Board approve reappointment of Mr. Aubrey Sims to the OGDBOD for a four year term. RECOMMENDED BY: APPROVED BY: John Hofstad, County Administrator
