Jeff Peters, Recreation/ Cultural Services Director, advised that 12 scoreboards are needed for the new Recreation Complex and that six of the scoreboards already have sponsors including Gulf Power, Cox Communications, P. S. Gifts ( 2), Conerly, Bowman & Dykes and Wyndham Garden Hotel, and that Staff anticipates sponsorship for all of the scoreboards. However, with the Complex nearing completion, the purchase of the scoreboards is required in order to have them installed in a timely manner. The City can piggyback with a contract through Palm Beach County through Nevco, which would result in a 12% discount. Mr. Peters stated the community is excited about the new Recreation Center and reported that Okaloosa Gas has agreed to donate all of the gas grills. Preston Hood of Preston Hood Chevrolet has contributed $250, 000 and will be the sponsor for the athletic complex.
