AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF FORT WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA; PROVIDING
FOR AUTHORITY; ADDING SECTION 12. 81. 038, ENTITLED " PUBLIC SCHOOLS IN
THE EF ZONING DISTRICT," IV, LAND DEVELOPMENT CODE;
TO VOLUME
ESTABLISHING SPECIFIC USE SIGN REGULATIONS FOR PUBLIC SCHOOLS
LOCATED IN THE EF EDUCATIONAL FACILITIES DISTRICTS; PROVIDING FOR
CONFLICTING PROVISIONS AND SEVERABILITY; AND SETTING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCil OF THE CITY
OF FORT WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOllOWS:
SECTION I. AUTHORITY
The authority for enactment of this ordinance is pursuant to the powers for the
City of Fort Walton Beach, provided in Section 2 of the City Charter, and Section
166. 021( 1), Florida Statutes.
SECTION II. ADDITION OF SECTION 12. 81. 038, ENTITLED " PUBLIC SCHOOLS IN
THE EF ZONING DISTRICTS," TO VOLUME IV, LAND DEVELOPMENT CODE
12. 81. 038 Public Schools in the EF Zonina District
In addition to the sianaae permitted bv section 12. 81. 02, public schools located
in the Educational Facilities ( EF) zonina districts shall be permitted additional sianaae
as follows:
Maximum heiaht: 24 feet
Monument sians
Maximum width: 16 feet
Sian size: 100 sa. feet(text and/ or araphics
area).
Number of sians permitted: The number of
monument sians permitted shall be one ( 1)
per street frontaae. except that if the street
frontaae exceeds 500 feet then two ( 2)
monument sians shall be permitted on that
street frontaae.
Installation Requirements: Monument
sians shall be subiect to the installation
requirements listed in section 20- 2011.
Athletic facilitv sians The sianaae located inside of public
school athletic facilities in the EF zonina
