RESOLUTION 73-18
A RESOLUTION ADMONISHING AND CENSORING
JANE FONDA AND RAMSEY CLARK FOR THEIR
REMARKS CONCERNING THE PRISONERS OF WAR
OF THE VIETNAM CONFLICT, PROVIDING THE
EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
WHEREAS, Jane Fonda and Ramsey Clark have made numerous
derogatory statements concerning the United States' involvement
in the Vietnam war and concerning statements made by returning
prisoners of war, and
WHEREAS, their statements are unfounded and contrary to
the principles of democracy of this Nation, now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WALTON BEACH,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of Fort
Walton Beach hereby admonishes Jane Fonda and Ramsey Clark for
their many unfounded remarks concerning the returning prisoners of
war and the United States' involvement in the Vietnam conflict in
that such statements have been contrary to the principles upon
which this Nation was founded.
SECTION 2. That copies of this Resolution shall be sent
to the appropriate Congressmen, Representatives and the Governor of
the State of Florida.
SECTION 3. That this Resolution being of administrative
nature shall take full force and effect immediately upon its passage
and approval by the. Mayor.
