Letter of Reference/Recommendation for ABL Management, Inc,
Ms. Cairncross,
Since 1995, the Davidson County Sheriff's Office (DCSO) in Nashville, Tennessee has
contracted its correctional food service operations with ABL Management. Initially, ABL
Management only provided correctional food services to our downtown campus, which
encompassed two stand-alone facilities and approximately 1000 offenders.
Over past sixteen years, the Davidson County Sheriffs Office has grown; and now operates and
manages five stand-alone facilities and nearly 3000 inmates which encompass adult male and
female offenders as well as a juvenile population.
As you may be aware, the Davidson County Sheriff Office is the only county-jail system in the
country that is fully accredited through the American Jail Association (ACA) which includes our
five stand-alone facilities, state-certified training academy, and administrative office.
Nonetheless, ABL Management has been able to provide the capacity and resources that offer
quality food service for our agency, in a cost-effective way, while operating under and meeting
specific ACA standards as well as national correctional food service requirements.
The DCSO and ABL effective working relationship/partnership has proven beneficial as we
(DCSO) continue to strive for excellence and to become the leader in the field of corrections.
