Resolution 08- 20 A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE COMPENSATION OF THE FINANCE DIRECTOR OF THE CITY OF FORT WALTON BEACH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA: SECTION I. COMPENSATION A. That an annual salary of $ $75, 000 is hereby established for the position of Finance Director. B. Upon securing Certified Public Accountant ( CPA) designation, Finance Director' s compensation shall be increased by $5, 000. C. Retirement Contributions: As per City Ordinance No. 1526, the City will pay the employer and employee ( member) contributions ( 5%) associated with the Finance Director' s participation in the General Employees' Retirement Plan. D. Phone Issuance: The City will issue the Finance Director a cellular phone for City business purposes. E. Insurance Premiums: Participation in the City' s medical, dental and life insurance programs shall be the same as all other City employees and consistent with the City' s Personnel Rules and Regulations. F. Other Benefits: The Finance Director will continue to be eligible for other City benefits not limited to vacation/sick leave, holidays, payment for professional development and continuing education training and all other benefits provided to all other City employees consistent with the City' s Personnel Rules and Regulations, as may be amended from time to time SECTION II. PERFORMANCE REVIEW- A. Upon completion of six ( 6) months as Finance Director, the City Manager shall conduct a probationary performance review of this Charter Officer and provide City Council with a copy. B. Annual performance evaluations will be conducted by the City Manager on each anniversary date with copies provided to Council. SECTION III. ADJUSTMENT A. Cost of Living Adjustment- The Finance Director shall be awarded the same cost of living adjustment as all other City employees. Said adjustment shall be at  the same amount or percentage and at the same time as it is granted to all other City employees. B. Annual Adjustment- the compensation of the Finance Director, like that of the City Clerk, shall be reviewed annually during City Council budget workshop and shall be amended, if appropriate, at the consensus of City Council during such budget workshop. SECTION IV.
